A specific architecture language was invented to imagine an office interior as a “city within an office”, which reinvents the traditional workplace to promote the client’s new startup culture. Rhythmic clusters of “houses”, curved “streets”, natural textures/ colors generate a relaxed vibe, where informal teamwork, innovation and doer mentality thrive.

The client’s goal was to transform the private rooms set up into an open office, where the employees enjoy working, playing, and socializing. The traditional workplace had to be reinvented to promote their startup culture based on humble leading, human connection, informal teamwork, passion for innovation and doer mentality. The early startup requires long intense workday in a closed office. The design goal was to create a space as a “city within an office” and a specific spatial language was developed with the following elements. Meeting Room: “house” with distinguished honeycomb volume, “lifted” of the “street”. The carpet tiles from the ground occupy the lower portions of the “houses” walls to achieve this visually. Circulation: curved “streets”, emphasized with carpet tiles color blends. Gathering areas: as social “urban squares”. Lounges/ games: recreational “mini parks”, sprinkled throughout. Workstations: freestanding reconfigurable “personal office” modules, color coded with grey “pavement”. The client’s brand features an image of color blending orbs, growing around a core. This organic concept is reinterpreted in the office space with the introduction of the principle for rooms clusters growth. Each room honeycomb volume differs in size and is added symmetrically long a shared wall. This repetition on volumes with a variation generates an interior rhythm, similar to the rhythm found in nature, which gives the space a calming, informal and humble vibe. This specific architecture style with its rhythmic clusters of “houses”, curved “streets”, natural materials/ textures, and earth colors creates a personalized human-centered playful work environment. It also makes a busy  small startup to feel like a company with its own brand identity and culture, where each employee thrives and grows with the company.
